Can Twitter ‘survive’ without 3rd party apps | Advantage Social

Let’s put it another way. The way Twitter foresaw its commercialisation did not include only 3rd party apps feeding off its tweets and enhancing the ecosystem.
Now that there are no such revenue partners, Twitter has been focussing on delivering a web presence for itself that wil make the use of Tweetdeck, tweetie and hootsuite secondary as today less than 40% of all Twitter visits are from its Twitter.com ‘portal’. A current ‘tweet-roversy’ from an instant theatrical summer over a deleted tweet ensued today after Twitter engineers ( we called them Analyst Developers in our universe some time back) . However, is it really a war?
For us, finally Twitter is ready to announce that its grown out into the teens( actually 6 birthdays old yet) and ready to use its own APIs to good GUI for the social web. One less trip to the Tweet mall for us! BTW, We are also eagerly awaiting Twitter analytics with Engagement measurement and all that. If I were a CMO I would have been one of those with a proposal to sponsor Twitter for more than 30% of my budget not less!
Also we hope to be #1 in Marketing and in Social Media and Twitter on Postrank with your help. And rising into Twitter fame on the Adage Power150.
